Hailing from Brazil, Tiba’s fascination with art began in his early years. Inspired by the acclaimed photographer Sebastião Salgado, he embarked on his photographic journey in 1993. What started as a passion soon bloomed into a full-fledged commitment as he delved into various forms of photography, including documentaries and portraits, following his studies in the United States. With unwavering determination, Tiba transitioned photography into his profession, capturing a wide spectrum of subjects – from the intimacy of weddings and dance to the allure of portraits and fashion. His lens also found its way onto the concert stage, collaborating with renowned artists such as Kiesza, Duran Duran, Diplo, Skrillex, and Betty Who. Beyond his photographic exploits, Tiba boasts over three decades of capoeira teaching experience. For 17 years, he shared his expertise both in the dynamic city of New York and on a global scale. In 2018, Tiba’s lens turned towards the enchanting essence of Bali, capturing its unique spirit through his artistic perspective. Though the challenges of the pandemic tethered him to New York in 2020, Tiba’s passion endured. By 2021, he returned to Bali, resuming his photographic odyssey amidst its captivating landscapes. Tiba’s journey is one marked by his devotion to both the art of photography and the world of capoeira, each frame and movement a testament to his creative and experiential depth.
